Lighthouse Electric of Point Place is a licensed Ohio electrical contractor, and about half of our work is commercial. We wire and service restaurants, offices, storefronts, and production floors across Toledo and down the I-75 corridor. Casey Grup owns the company and is the contact for commercial work, so the person you describe the problem to is the person who scopes the job.
Who we work for
Most of our commercial work falls into four groups:
- Restaurants. Hood and kitchen equipment circuits, dining and bar lighting, walk-in cooler connections, and the added capacity a menu change usually brings with it.
- Small businesses and storefronts. Build-outs, signage circuits, point-of-sale and register locations, back-office and stockroom power.
- Medical offices. Treatment room circuits, dedicated equipment feeds, exam lighting, and the quiet, clean work an occupied office needs.
- Manufacturing facilities. Machine connections, disconnects, shop lighting, and the service capacity a new piece of equipment asks for.
Two projects already published on this site show the range: Migos Toledo, a restaurant, and Erie Street Ink, a tattoo studio. Both are the kind of job where the electrical work has to fit around a room that customers see.
The work
Tenant build-outs and remodels
New space, new layout, new equipment. We rough in the circuits, set the lighting, land the equipment connections, and come back for trim and final. We handle the permit and the inspection, so that piece is not yours to chase.
Service and panel upgrades
Buildings outgrow the service that was installed for them. Added equipment, a new tenant, or a change in how a space is used can leave you out of room in the panel. We scope the upgrade, install it, and plan the shutdown around your hours so the interruption lands where it costs you least. More detail on that work is on our panel and service upgrade page.
Lighting
Interior lighting, retrofits, exterior and parking lot fixtures, emergency and exit fixtures. In a restaurant or a retail space, lighting is part of the room, so we work to the look you want rather than just filling the ceiling.
Added circuits and equipment connections
New oven, new compressor, new imaging equipment, new machine on the floor. We run the circuit, set the disconnect, and make the connection. We also install and service standby generators. The gas or propane side is handled by a fitter we bring in, and we coordinate the two sides so you are not managing two contractors.
Troubleshooting on a live operation
Breakers that trip on a schedule nobody can explain, a circuit that dropped, flickering on one leg of the building, equipment that faults under load. We trace it and tell you what we find. A standard service call and diagnostic is $180.
Commercial EV charging
We are a Qmerit certified installer and put in Level 2 charging for employee lots, customer parking, and fleet vehicles. Details are on our EV charger installation page.
Working around your operation
Our normal hours are Monday through Friday, 7am to 5pm, and planned work usually starts about a week out. Where a job allows it, we schedule the loud parts and the parts that shut power off around your business hours: before you open, after you close, or on your slowest day of the week. Tell us your rush, and we will build the sequence around it.
In an occupied space we keep the work area contained, keep paths clear for your staff and customers, protect finishes, and clean up at the end of each day. In a medical office that means dust control and quiet. In a kitchen it means staying out of the line during service.
On build-outs we work alongside the general contractor and the other trades, and we sequence our rough-in so drywall, mechanical, and finish work are not waiting on us.

Lighthouse Electric carries general liability insurance, is bonded, and carries workers' compensation. For a facilities manager, a landlord, or a general contractor, those three are usually the gate before anyone gets on site. If you need certificates of insurance for your file before work starts, ask and we will send them.
Regional and multi-site work
Home base is Point Place in Toledo, and our commercial work runs the I-75 corridor from Toledo to Dayton. We work out of trucks, so the drive is part of the job rather than a reason to turn it down.
