Lighthouse Electric of Point Place is a licensed Ohio electrical contractor working out of Point Place, on the north end of Toledo. We handle residential and commercial electrical work, split close to half and half, from a single receptacle replaced in a bungalow to a full panel and branch-circuit build-out for a restaurant kitchen.

Casey Grup owns Lighthouse Electric. We handle the permit and inspection side of a job so you are not chasing paperwork. Below is what we do and where to read more.

What we do

Residential Electrician

Service calls, troubleshooting, lighting, outlets and switches, ceiling fans, dedicated appliance circuits, and whole-house rewiring including knob-and-tube replacement and aluminum branch-wiring remediation. This is the work for homeowners in Point Place and the older Toledo housing stock, where the wiring is older than the way the house is now used. Read more about residential electrical work.

Commercial Electrician

Restaurants, small businesses, medical offices and manufacturing facilities. Work runs from lighting retrofits and equipment circuits to service and panel work. Tell us what cannot be down and when, and we plan the sequence around it. Past jobs include Migos Toledo and Erie Street Ink. Read more about commercial electrical work.

Electrical Panel Upgrades

Replacing an undersized or aging service panel, typically a 100-amp service moved up to 200 amps, which runs about $5,200 for a standard installation. Most people call about this when they are adding air conditioning, a hot tub, a shop, an EV charger, or when a home inspection flagged the panel during a sale. Read more about panel upgrades.

EV Charger Installation

Level 2 charger installation in garages, driveways and commercial lots, at roughly $750 for a straightforward install. Lighthouse is a Qmerit certified EV charging installer. Read more about EV charger installation.

New Construction and Remodeling

Rough-in and finish wiring for additions, gut renovations, kitchen and bath remodels, finished basements, garages and tenant build-outs. We work alongside your builder or general contractor and set the schedule against their framing and drywall dates. Read more about new construction and remodeling.

Emergency Electrician

Partial or total power loss, a burning smell at a panel or outlet, a breaker that will not stay set, storm and water damage to a service, and standby generator installation and service so the next outage is planned for. On generators, the electrical work is ours and the gas or propane connection is made by a fitter we bring in. Read more about emergency electrical work.

What customers say

We needed a considerable amount of electrical work performed and Lighthouse Electric was recommended by a local merchant. We were concerned about the wide variety of projects required but Lighthouse Electric was able to perform them all. They installed 110 volt circuits to our garage, deck and shed. The shed in the back yard required a trench to be dug out for the power line. Lights and outlets were installed inside the shed. They installed 220 volt circuits to our garage and laundry room. New lights were wired to the front of our garage. The backyard floodlight and front porch lights were replaced. They installed conduit to a box underneath our deck roof and installed a ceiling fan. New exhaust fans were installed in the bathrooms and new switches installed. All outside receptacles were replaced with new. We were amazed with the diversity of their skills, professionalism, the quality of work and communication with us throughout the job. We highly recommend Lighthouse Electric for all your electrical needs.
